Checking your breast after reconstruction
After your surgery it's vital to continue checking both your unaffected and your reconstructed breast. If you are unsure how best to examine your reconstructed breast, then ask either your surgeon or breast care nurse.
In case of a suspicious lump in your reconstructed breast, all the usual diagnostic measures (i.e. MRI, Ultrasound and so on) are absolutely possible to use again. A number of studies show that breast reconstruction will not mask a recurrence.
