The Mission

The primary goal of the Didyma Foundation is to protect and preserve the good health of women who have suffered from breast cancer, by raising awareness of their options for breast reconstruction.

Furthermore, Didyma provides a comprehensive information resource for breast cancer patients who have had, or are about to have a mastectomy (complete removal of the breast).

Today, even in the most developed countries, it's a fact that more than 80 per cent of all women undergoing a mastectomy renounce part of their womanhood due to lack of information or, by not being offered good explanation and guidance about their prospective options.

While public awareness concerning breast cancer has conspicuously improved over the past decade, the options facing women after a mastectomy still remain much less widely known and accessible. The Didyma Foundation aims to bridge this information gap by initiating and supporting public awareness campaigns that focus on the choices open to women following breast cancer and mastectomy.
