Recommendations include: 

Discuss immediate breast reconstruction with all patients who are being advised to have a mastectomy, and offer it except where significant comorbidity or (the need for) adjuvant therapy may preclude this option. All 

appropriate breast reconstruction options should be offered and discussed with patients, irrespective of whether they are all available locally.

On the 20th of January 2009 the Didyma Foundation held an event to celebrate its launch in the UK. The event was held at Automat in London, organized by Yasmin Mills. Guests included the designer Jasmine Guinness, the model Yasmin Le Bon, the designer Anya Hindmarch, the jeweller Stephen Webster, the TV presenter Donna Air, the interior designer Kelly Hoppen, the hairdresse Nicky Clarke, the musician Nick Rhodes and the supermodel Natalia Vodianova.

A national audit of provision and outcomes of mastectomy and breast reconstruction surgery for women in England and Wales. This is the first annual report from the National Mastectomy and Breast Reconstruction Audit, which collects information on all women (aged 16 and over) who undergo mastectomy and/or breast reconstruction between 1 January and 30 September 2008 in both the NHS and Independent sector. The results will be reported in subsequent reports starting in December 2008. Link (PDF)
